The System Engineer supports requirements development, system design, development, and verification/validation of weapon systems and supporting equipment.

Responsibilities
  • System requirements development and decomposition resulting in technical performance parameters (TPM), System Requirements Documents (or models), and system specifications.
  • Planning and execution management for system engineering life cycle (SELC) processes including developing System Engineering Plans (SEP) and technical review plans/criteria with entry/exit criteria for technical review events, e.g., System Requirements review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, etc.
  • Develops requirements traceability matrices and employ them throughout the SELC to support technical review events.
  • Collaborates with Test & Evaluation (T&E) managers to develop test methods to best V&V emerging system designs throughout the SELC.
  • Collaborates with T&E managers to develop Test and Evaluation Strategies (TES) and Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP) in compliance with DOD directive, policy and best practices.
  • Manages development/processing of engineering change request/proposals, and related technical documents and assessments to support configuration control boards.
  • Develops and briefs lead system engineers, program managers, functional leads, and customer stakeholders on the system engineering process, performance requirements, and methods for tracing and V&V methods and plans.
Qualifications
  • BA or BS with technical, science or engineering focus.
  • 5+ years of experience in system engineering, test and evaluation and execution with demonstrated strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • DOD Security clearance (mandatory).
  • Experience with DOD/DOE weapon system engineering life cycle processes, artifacts, and agencies (highly desired).
  • Experience planning and executing T&E events, developing plans, and conducting analysis of T&E results (highly desired).
  • Understanding of the DOD’s Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) concepts and application thereof (highly desired).
  • Experience with SySML using any software (highly desired).
